Part 3 · Using the app
Connect GitHub and add repos
Share your repos with the app so it can read commit history. Your code is only read, never changed.
Connect GitHub
GitHub is connected once for the whole company, by an Admin. Everyone in the company then works with the same repos. Editors and View only members see who connected it; their Connect and Disconnect buttons are greyed out.
As an Admin, open the project panel (☰) and go to the Connect tab. Click Connect GitHub and sign in with GitHub. If the app isn't installed yet, pick the repos to share. If your GitHub account can manage more than one installation, choose which one is this company's. GitHub then sends you back to the board.
- You choose exactly which repos the app can see.
- To share more later, change the app's access on GitHub.
- Disconnect is on the same tab. It unlinks the company; the app stays installed on GitHub until you remove it there (Settings, Applications).
- Jira works the same way: an Admin connects one Jira site for the company, below GitHub on the same tab.
Add repos to a project
On the Repos tab, search the repos you shared and pick one. It appears on the board, linked to the selected project.
- Hover a row and its card glows on the board. Click it and the board flies there.
- The x removes a repo from this project only. Your GitHub repo is untouched.
Connect and add a repo
The tour picks up again when you come back from GitHub.
